Hexachrome Colour
For most full colour printing conventional colour made up of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black is quite acceptable. Where extra vibrancy and impact is needed Hexachrome may be the answer. Using an extra two colours - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black plus Orange and Green, a much greater range of Pantone® colours can be reproduced accurately and pictures can look much more vibrant. We offer Hexachrome as an option on any Full Colour print job. Simply specify that you would like your job printed in Hexachrome at the start of the design process. The only extra cost is the premium for the printing.

Supplied on Disk
Currently the only programs which support Hexachrome are Corel Draw® 8, 9 & 10, Freehand© 8, 9 & 10, Pagemaker® 6.5 & 7 and Quark Express 4™ on Apple Mac or PC platform. Please Note: Exports from drawing files do not work in Hexachrome at present, i.e. the full design must be done in one program. We have found innovative ways to produce Hexachrome from the majority of programs and Hexachrome exports from one program to another.

Colour Scans
We have spent a lot of time in perfecting the conversion process to hexachrome so it is just right. Until programs like Photoshop® and Photopaint™ support Hexachrome separations we recommend that you simply scan as RGB images, place these in your document but also supply them to us as picture files. We will then convert to Hexachrome and substitute them at a small cost - please contact us for details. If we are scanning the images there is no extra charge for a Hexachrome scan.

Colour Matching
We can supply Hexachrome colour swatch books from Pantone©, if solid Pantone© colours or particular 'house' colours need to be matched to their Hexachrome equivalence. In addition we have produced a Hexachrome swatch poster with all of the Hexachrome colours. This has the advantage of being exactly matched to our press.

Proofs
There is currently no economical way of proofing Hexachrome. We would always recommend a small print run to 'proof' the artwork before a large Hexachrome job is printed. Please contact us for details.
